My obsession (I have a lot of those!) with the fabric designer Tula Pink is all consuming and never-ending. My mom and I bought up a whole bunch of this collection- Hushabye- last summer to make matchy matchy baby quilts. One for her house, one for mine.
We found a suitable pattern (a free one!) in early spring and got right to work cutting and piecing...but the free pattern came with the cost of a few mistakes. The pinwheels were pieced completely different than either of us were used to- so we got some good use of our seam rippers.
I got the blue and brown colorway- and my mom got the pink and brown colorway.
I never plan on piecing the backs of my quilts, but somehow I always manage to do so!
We do love our pinwheels! (even if they do make us curse)
We finished just in time for us to take them into Elaine's for quilting...
...and Holly did an amazing job yet again!
(and about the blocks in the first photo that have some white swiss dot in them- we really wanted to use it to add some texture, but it just didn't look right. One of the things we ended up ripping apart. So no, the swiss dot isn't in the final product.)
