Due to my own laziness and bad planning, I only had a week and a half to get ready for Renegade. I spent those 11 days working 12 hour shifts, mostly from noon to midnight, taking small breaks to save my sanity. I also made myself make dinner every night, as a break and to ensure that we ate good food.
Was it worth it?
Yes, very much so!
I made 2 hipster Mikey Monkeys, and 4 Katy Kitties first- they take the most time.
Then I made 4 Tag-a-Long dolls,
...and I finished with two yarn haired dolls.
This is my mermaid-ish doll- I found the yarn and fell in love, I thought it was the perfect beachy mermaid hair.
And this is my blonde bun doll. She was popular, and was gone by noon!
Here is my booth, all set up. I also made a new grey table cloth and the scalloped bunting before the show.
New business cards!
Last but not least, I made a new set of mustaches for the show.
Here are a few shots from the show...
The end of the table...
The dolls and the few cards I had left that day- I went through 100.
A Mr. Monkey and a Miss Kitty.
And little miss Coralia.
All in all, Renegade was a huge hit. I sold most of my inventory the first day- I was in a bit of a panic that I didn't make more! But the second day was a lot slower than the first, so it all worked out.
It's been a few weeks since Renegade- and I have been SO busy with custom orders that I haven't had time to restock the shop! It's been insane- wonderfully insane. Perfectly insane. Exactly what I have always imagined for this humble little operation.
Thanks to all of you, I am successfully doing what I have always dreamed of doing- making cute things and getting "paid" to do it.
As soon as I catch my breath, I plan on restocking the shop and making a ton of new things for the Renegade Holiday show coming up in December.
And keep a lookout for all the new custom orders I have been making- they are amazing!
